Tobacco History and Culture

Traces the history of tobacco from its origin in Latin America, and shows how smoking habits spread throughout the world including Japan by exhibiting smoking articles and cigarette packages.

Exhibits the old-fashioned kizami (kiseru tobacco) and the kiseru (Japanese pipe). Also shows the changes in the Japanese tobacco industry from the private sector in old the days to a governmental enterprise.
