<The measurement method of herpes virus in saliva>
The accumulation of fatigue may cause the lowered efficiency of jobs, various psychosomatic symptoms, depression, and eventually serious problems including death by overwork and suicide. However, it has not been established to estimate objectively the accumulation of fatigue and the medium and long term fatigue that affect significantly human health yet.
Prof. Dr. Kondo in Jikei University School of Medicine has discovered that human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6) in saliva can be used as an indicator for estimating such an accumulated fatigue.
At the present time, we are developing the technology for measuring HHV-6 in saliva by using the virus concentration technology by tamavidin 2. We expect that this measurement method will be applied in various aspects including self-medication near future.
